Catholic Ministry has been in Mike’s blood since his high school days being involved in St. Chris Youth Ministry and Chaminade Julienne Campus Ministry. Participating in Summer Mission Trips, leading retreats, and even DJing Jr. High Dances. After dabbling in a few opportunities using his Business Management degree, and coaching baseball at various levels including a year on the University of Dayton baseball staff, he found himself back at Chaminade Julienne high School in their Ministry and Service Department as the Assistant Director. Spending the majority of time directing retreats and co-leading the Faith Leadership class, his love for his Catholic faith grew monumentally.
In the summers of 2014-2016 he was blessed to help lead summer youth pilgrimages to Medjugorje (2014 and 2015) and Lourdes (2016) with a good friend of his, and those trips were some of the most influential moments of not only his faith and but his life. Having the ability to spend that much time focused on his relationship with the Blessed Mother, and ultimately his relationship with Jesus was truly a life changing opportunity. (On a fun note, it was on the Lourdes Pilgrimage that Mike discerned that he would ask his now wife Maddie to marry him.)
After his time at CJ, Mike finished his Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry at the University of Dayton and spent time as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at St. Mary of the Assumption, before moving into a different form of ministry by joining the development staff at Catholic Social Services of Miami Valley. There he started as the parish and community relations coordinator, moved into running the agency fundraising events, and helping in donor engagement. These experiences led him to Incarnation and now the Our Lady of Light Family.
Mike is married to his lovely wife Maddie. They have two daughters, Abbie and Kelly, and they have a dog named Frankie. In Mike’s free time, you will most likely find him attending or watching a sporting event, golfing, finding as much time as possible at the lake, or working to create new sports ministry opportunities.
