Sacraments
The whole liturgical life of the Church revolves around the Eucharistic sacrifice and the sacraments. There are seven sacraments in the Church: Baptism, Confirmation or Chrismation, Eucharist, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony. Sacraments are 'powers that comes forth' from the Body of Christ, which is ever-living and life-giving. They are actions of the Holy Spirit at work in his Body, the Church. They are 'the masterworks of God' in the new and everlasting covenant. // Catechism of the Catholic Church 1113, 1116
We are excited to celebrate each sacrament with you and your family. Sacraments form our faith; in them, we grow deeper in our relationship with God and our Body of Christ. From birth until natural death, we nourish our faith lives with the gifts of God's covenant with us, His Church.
There are three categories of sacraments: the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, the Eucharist), the Sacraments of Healing (Penance and the Anointing of the Sick), and the Sacraments at the Service of Communion (Marriage and Holy Orders). Learn more about each sacrament below, and please reach out to our parish offices for any further questions you may have.
