Sharing Christ’s Love This Season
Join our Our Lady of Light Family in living out the spirit of giving this November and December! Through Winter Care Kits, Christmas Kindness, and The Giving Tree, we can bring warmth, comfort, and hope to those in need across our community. Read below to see how you can get involved and make a meaningful difference this holiday season.
Winter Care KitsThis November, help share Christ’s love by providing warmth and care to our homeless neighbors in Dayton. In partnership with the South Dayton Emergency Response Team (SDERT), Our Lady of Light Family is assembling Winter Care Kits for more than 150 individuals in need. We’re collecting travel-size toiletries, first aid items, warm clothing, sleeping bags, tents, and pet food.
Donation boxes will be available throughout November at both the Incarnation PAC and St. Francis of Assisi Gathering Space. |
Christmas KindnessSpread the joy of Christmas by supporting Incarnation’s Christmas Kindness program, which provides gifts and assistance to local families in need. You can donate online or by check (note “Christmas Kindness”), adopt a family, pick up a gift tag after Mass on Nov. 22–23 or Nov. 29–30, or volunteer to help package and distribute gifts.
For details or to get involved, contact Candy Huttinger (937-430-1174), Lynn Brumfield (937-287-7081), or Barb Perkins (937-671-6546). |
The Giving TreeBring joy to families in need through St. Francis of Assisi’s annual Giving Tree project, which supports about 70 local families each Christmas. The trees will be displayed in the Gathering Space from Nov 22–Dec 7, and all gifts are due by Dec. 14 at noon. Take a tag, purchase the requested gift, and return it unwrapped to the parish. Monetary donations are also welcome to help provide grocery store gift cards for Christmas dinners.
For questions or to volunteer, contact Annie Pryor at [email protected] or 937-902-3988. |
Thanksgiving Basket CollectionHelp make Thanksgiving brighter for families in need! Choose a slip of paper from the turkey display in the Gathering Space to select a non-perishable item, and return donations by Saturday, November 22 in the labeled boxes. Monetary donations for grocery gift cards are also appreciated; please mark envelopes “St. Vincent de Paul” and place cash or checks (memo: Thanksgiving) in the collection basket or safe slot by the Nursery.
Pre-packaged baskets will be distributed Sunday, November 23, after the 11:30 am Mass, and volunteers are invited to sign up by the turkey display to help with deliveries. |
