When she was just twelve years old, Michelle was asked to play piano for the choir one Sunday when the organist at her home parish was sick. Michelle fell in love with music, obtaining a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Arizona State University and has collected over 40 years worth of liturgical and pastoral formation since. All in God's timing, Michelle's role at St. Francis of Assisi came available just as her youngest child entered middle school, and she gladly accepted the position as she entered a new stage of life with newfound time to serve God through music.
Michelle and her husband, John, have been married for over 30 years and have five children and one dog. In her (theoretical) spare time, Michelle enjoys reading, hiking, biking, camping, playing board games, sewing, and baking, and of course, practicing a myriad of instruments including piano, viola, hammered dulcimer, and mandolin.
