First Communion

At Our Lady of Light, students celebrate First Communion in the spring of 2nd grade. Throughout First Communion preparation, students also prepare for First Reconciliation and receive the sacrament of Reconciliation before their First Communion.

PARISH PROGRAM: Our First Communion sacramental preparation will largely take place in the classroom during our Awaken program. We will hold a retreat in November for Reconciliation and in March for First Communion for all students to attend.

INCARNATION SCHOOL: The majority of sacramental preparation will take place in the classroom at Incarnation school. We will hold a retreat in November for Reconciliation and in March for First Communion for all students to attend.

ADAPTIVE: It is our goal to give all students an opportunity to participate in the weekly classes. If that environment will not work for your child, we are also offering an adaptive program where we can work more closely with your child. Please reach out to us for more information.

AT-HOME RETREAT OPTION: This at-home experience is filled with prayer, online informative videos, questions to answer, activities for your child, and resources to better prepare for the sacrament of First Reconciliation.
