Bread of Life
What’s new with Masses July 21 - August 25?
Coming out of our year of Journeying with Jesus through Advent and Lent, and with a focus on the John 6 Gospels on the Bread of Life Discourse, the Our Lady of Light community is going to spend these weeks focusing on how the Mass, the Eucharist, and Community are a part of our trek onward.
To help us grow deeper in love with Jesus in the Eucharist, and to strengthen us for serving in the community, we will:
To help us take a greater participation in the Mass, we are inviting parishioners to respond to Jesus’ words, “Come away and rest awhile,” by offering their intentions each week using these reflections:
Before the start of Sunday Mass, we invite all parishioners to write their intentions on a slip of paper and place them in the basket to be including in our offertory. You can also submit intentions online throughout the week. At the Parish Picnic Mass, all collected intentions will be brought together and lifted to our Heavenly Father. Intentions include your prayers, your needs, your joys and your concerns - whatever you wish to bring to God. Together, let us pray for our community and the many individuals that make up the Body of Christ.
To help us grow deeper in love with Jesus in the Eucharist, and to strengthen us for serving in the community, we will:
- conclude our July 21st Masses with a Eucharistic Procession; and
- host exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (Adoration) 15 minutes before every Sunday Mass (including Saturday Vigils) beginning July 27th/28th
To help us take a greater participation in the Mass, we are inviting parishioners to respond to Jesus’ words, “Come away and rest awhile,” by offering their intentions each week using these reflections:
- What is weighing on your heart right now? What are struggling with? What challenges are you facing? What is taking away your peace?
- In the last week, what are you thankful for that you want to share with God?
